A Tribe: Fresh Start Church

Revelation 7:9-12

After this I saw a vast crowd, too great to count, from every nation and tribe and people and language, standing in front of the throne and before the Lamb. They were clothed in white robes and held palm branches in their hands. 10 And they were shouting with a great roar, “Salvation comes from our God who sits on the throne and from the Lamb!” 11 And all the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living beings. And they fell before the throne with their faces to the ground and worshiped God. 12 They sang, “Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and strength belong to our God forever and ever! Amen.”

Song: “We Want Revival Now” by Fresh Start Church

Happy Fourth Day of Thanks Everyone!

Today I give thanks for finding “my tribe” in the Body of Christ. As a little girl, it didn’t take very long to realize that I was different. My family has Pentecostal roots so I was raised knowing how to war in prayer. I pray loud and with authority and worship even louder. That is usually very intimidating for those who are used to being quiet in church. I’m a little old school in terms of strictness about knowing and abiding by the word of God and living a life of holiness and righteousness before the Lord. (My spiritual daughters will attest to that.)

For over twenty years, my pursuit of the Lord has grown deeper and stronger. In prayer, I cry out frequently to experience a new dimension of God’s glory. When the Bible says that we believers are to do greater works than what Jesus did, I believe it and want to be about that. I want to be able to lay my hands on the sick and see them recover every time. I want to be used to have the lame walk, the blind to see and any person oppressed to go free. I want to see power and revival in Christian churches again. According to GotQuestions.org, “Revival refers to a spiritual reawakening from a state of dormancy or stagnation in the life of a believer. It encompasses the resurfacing of a love for God, an appreciation of God’s holiness, a passion for His Word and His church, a convicting awareness of personal and corporate sin, a spirit of humility, and a desire for repentance and growth in righteousness.”

In order to see this power and level of revival, it is going take a real pursuit of God and seeking Him until God breathes His breath upon us and we see the resurrection of an army of God. No man is left behind and there is an ever-present strengthening of what remains. The pursuit includes repentance, prayer, reading and meditating on the word of the Bible, and seeking Him. The result is a refreshed people that stands at attention and are ready for orders from the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. I’ve learned that most believers want to see the results of revival without doing the work of the pursuit. In chapter 3 of the book of Revelation, the Lord says there is a type of church, a church named Sardis, that seems and thinks that it is alive but it is really dead because it lacks the spirit of God and the breath of God.

I want the Spirit of God and the breath of God to resurrect me and give me the capacity to do His will. I don’t want to be satisfied with the status quo and so little when the benefits package of Calvary gave salvation, healing, deliverance, liberty, abundant life and so much more.

For a long while, I thought I was alone in my desire to want more of God. But, I was introduced to a church that lives in sustained revival. They are a Bible believing church. The youngest to the oldest persons war in the spirit. They pray. They worship until there is a breakthrough of the presence of God that invokes miracles, signs, wonders and deliverance. They read, believe in, meditate on and quote the word of God. They readily bring new disciples into the body of Christ and do water baptisms on a regular basis. For the last eight years, they have been praying for revival in American and literally pray each month for the different regions of the United States in their Pray America services. The church is called Fresh Start Church in Peoria, Arizona.

When I watched one of their sermons for the first time, my spirit said “this is your tribe!” They prayed like I prayed. They shouted and worshipped like I worshipped. They prophesied like I prophesied. They pursued God like I pursued Him. They warred in prayer for lost souls and prodigals like I do. They understood me and had my same desire for God. I had finally found my tribe of people who are like minded in mission and purpose in the Kingdom of God. My soul, which was very thirsty, received life and encouragement to keep pursuing God because I could now lock arms with my tribe. We would be one in the spirit, touching and agreeing, pursuing God to accomplish the purpose of God—to prepare the remnant and the way for Jesus’ second coming.

It is amazing to have encountered and discovered that I am not alone. I have a tribe with whom to pursue God and I am so excited about it.

Today as I give thanks for my tribe, I encourage you to find yours so that you won’t be alone in your pursuit of whatever it is that you are pursuing. I also invite you to donate to Fresh Start Church, https://www.freshstartaz.com/give, as they pursue their mission to make a great army of sustained revivalist who will pray for America and win back our nation for Christ and to watch one of their sermons: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=grItNJoL-dY.

Love Ya,

Have a Great Day of Thanks!
