Day 25 Commitment
2 Timothy 4:7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
2Timothy 2:15 Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.

Twenty Fifth Day of Thanks!
Today is Christmas Eve and I thought we would get away from battling seizures during the holiday this year. However, today Lilah had a seizure and things shut down because I go on vigilante watch. I have to ensure so many safety measures--nothing of danger in Lilahs' periphery, that she doesn't choke on her saliva during a seizure, that she doesn't have a fall--and be on guard at every second. Over the years, I've learned that so much can happen in a split second that can result in a life or death matter for Lilah. So, everything shuts down so that I can be attentive and by her side to care for her every need. Sometimes it's tiring and has its own wear and tear on my body, but for the most part, after all these years, I have it down to a method that works for us.
Being a care give requires so much commitment of time, energy, dedication, and love. It's non-stop commitment and love poured out. In the same way I have committed to love Lilah and ensure her safety and well-being, I think of this Christmas season, when we've chosen to celebrate the birth of Christ, and am honored to be a recipient of Jesus' similar commitment. Jesus came from His eternal home, gave up His seat in glory for 33 human years, decided to die on a cross for the entire world's sin, rose up again and went back to heaven, promising He'd return again. He committed to die for the entire world so that we could be free, healed, delivered, have peace and so forth.
I am committed to ensure the safety and well-being of one person. Imagine having to be committed to the entire world. Non-stop, you are praying for the billions in the world, watching over them, guiding them, providing for them. I get stressed with a commitment to one person. God never gets stressed about it, nor does He stop loving us and pouring into us. So, I take my cues for my commitment to Lilah from Christ and am so thankful for the model.
I am so thankful that Jesus committed to come to earth and die for me. It's the most precious gift that anyone could offer me (and you).Lilah and I pray that you all have a wonderful Christmas Eve and Christmas day celebration. Pray for us as we navigate this cycle time, rejoicing and thanking God for the healing that He died for us to have.
Love ya,
Have a Great Day of Thanks!
