Happy Twenty Third Day of Thanks Everyone!
Today I give thanks for confirmation, especially when it comes from the mouths of children.
On one of my 4 am mornings of bible studying, I received a text from a young lady from my prayer community. We begin to talk about an issue in her life that she was having difficulty addressing. As we were texting back and forth, I immediately realized that the depth of our conversation needed to transition to a phone call because I would have to write extremely too much stuff to correct some of the erroneous precepts in her biblical knowledge. I asked if she was in a position for me to call her without waking up her children and she quickly replied that they were already up. She was actually more embarrassed that they would make noise as we were speaking. I reassured her that it was totally okay for them to make noise in the background because that is what kids do, even if it was early in the morning.
We spent over an hour on the phone with me giving her scriptures and breaking them down as well as clarifying several biblical concepts to address the issue that was overwhelming her. When the teaching anointing is at work in me, I like to take the time to explain line by line and precept by precept of biblical scripture to ensure that the hearer is completely understanding what is being said. Some things I had the young lady repeat back to me to ensure she understood them and could explain the concepts herself. Once we completed the bible study, I asked if I could pray for her. She needed healing and deliverance in a particular area of her life.
As I was praying her youngest son, who I believe is 4 years old, started to declare, “It’s working! It’s working. The prayer is working!” His first two declarations caught me off guard because I thought he was talking about a toy or something he was playing with until he mentioned that the prayer was working. I replied, “Amen! From his lips to God’s ears. The bible says that out of the mouths of babes and sucklings, God has ordained and perfected praise.” It was something about the little boy’s confirmation and declaration that shifted the environment and made both his mother and me hyperaware of the presence of God. I knew that the chains of bondage with which she was dealing were breaking. The word of God she learned was being 100% applied and going to the depths of the problem and her understanding to reap a one-hundred-fold blessing. It was beautiful to witness all of it.
We finished praying and I had to quickly jump on the line to start 6 am prayer. But, the words of her son kept ringing in my ear. “It’s working! It’s working! The prayer is working!” That confirmation wasn’t just for the prayer I prayed for his mother. The confirmation was for everything that I had committed to prayer—my daughter’s health and healing, my career, my family, my finances, salvation for the many people/souls that I pray to be saved, my future husband and marriage, the prayer community, etc. Those prayers were working too. Prayerfully, God will allow me to see a harvest in every area of my life and in those prayers, while I am in the land of the living.
