Love Worth Fighting For

Day 19: Love Worth Fighting for

1 Corinthians 13: 4-8 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails.

Happy Nineteenth Day of Thanks Everyone!

Have you ever been so frustrated with someone you love that you just wanted to walk away but knew that walking away wasn't the solution or really an option? If you were truly being honest, you knew that much of your frustration was due to breakdowns in communication, unforgiveness, selfishness, anger, and pride from both parties. To salvage any piece of the relationship, you had to remember why you walked into love with the other person in the first place.

That happened to me.

In my prayer time, God told me that I wasnt supposed to leave. But, because I was ready to go, I asked God to remind me of why I walked into love with this person in the first place, of God truly wanted me to stay. Why did I ask God to do that? (I was ready to leave) The next morning, I heard the voice of the other person in my ear as clear and as loud as the sun burst into day break. The voice was replaying our love notes and all of our first moments. Suddenly, I was reminded of why we chose each other and how we became each other's glue. And I remembered our commitment.

Remind me (Why I fell in Love)

I awoke to the words of

Love

whispering in my ear

reminding me

Of who you are

& where we were

when less complications

and open communication

crowned us.

Now,

broken pieces

shattered promises

empty places in my heart

need to remember

When I felt you

& how I loved you.

This morning,

your voice woke me up

reminding me

why our love is worth fighting for.

Love ya,

Have a Great Day of Thanks!
